I'm overweight and don't have enough money. I am not jealous of those who are thin and rich. I have enough to worry about. I don't have time to waste thinking about what other people have that I don't have. The key to happiness is being grateful for what you have. For all you know, your rich and thin relative is trying to fulfill her inner emptiness with all sorts of superficial baubles that will never make her happy. Be glad you are not her!! I wish I were thinner, and I wish I had more money. I'm trying to spend my energy losing weight (by eating better and exercising more), and by figuring out how to find a job in this nasty recession. There's always someone better off than you, no matter how well you are doing. Look around at your life, and you'll probably find lots of things that are wonderful about it. Don't waste time dwelling on what it's NOT, but instead focus more on what it is, and what it can be. Best of luck to you.
ITA. Try not to focus on others. You honestly have no idea what's really going on with them. The grass is always greener... We all have our own trials and tribulations. And we all have our own blessings. Sometimes we all experience really good times when things seem to be going well, and we experience really challenging times as well. Focus on being the best person you can be and try to send out good energy to others, even the thin, rich ones. Good energy will come back to you in positive ways, and you'll probably end up feeling a lot better when you stop the negative cycle of being envious of others. It's not worth it. We all have those moments, but we should focus on making ourselves and our lives better. Focusing on others is simply not productive. Try affirming what is positive in your life as well as what's potentially positive. Good luck.
