I was amazed that Santorum and Bachmann were the voices of sanity on Pakistan.  But Bachmann's nomination of China as a model for us to emulate was nutty enough to make up for that uncharacteristic sanity.

I thought Newt really blew it on Iran.  Because of his promise to pull out all the stops on covert action if he ends up as president, anything negative that happens in Iran would be blamed on the US.  Instead of helping the opposition, it would give Ahmadinejad an excuse to throw them all in jail as covert agents.

Cain's stand on torture -- he's opposed to it, but the generals can do whatever they want as long as they say it's not torture -- ranks with his stand that abortion should be illegal, but the decision is up to the woman.

Paul and Huntsman were the most consistent and intelligent.  On the killing of American citizens it sounded like Jeff might have written Paul's response.

Perry managed not to step on his tongue, but his zero-based budgeting on foreign aid is a book-keeping device, not a policy.  The implication that it would really change things was belied when he said it would apply to Israel but they would end up getting plenty of money anyway.
