And if you like your current childcare arrangement or have another non-lottery option (take a look at the community-based PK options--they run their own lotteries and several are bilingual) then it's ok. If your goal is to have more choices in the event that you get a bad lottery draw, let us know how far you're willing to transport your kid and the neighborhood where you'll be working and people might have suggestions of safer schools that are reasonable commutes.
