So, DC isn't dead last in terms of how many people it's vaccinated, just skewed because it's vaccinated a large number of non-residents (who presumably work in DC in health care or the like)? Seems like DC's in a hard spot because of the number of people who come into the city and interact with residents.
Grr. Yet another reason DC should be a state. If we had two Senators, the Senators would be pushing for more doses. But we have no representation, so the government listens to us less. Make DC a state.
I agree with "grrr", except no one is forcing DC to dole out DCs supply to non-residents. It was a great idea in theory IF everyone was "playing nice" and donating equitable quantities of vaccine to DC. They aren't. 10,000 grocery/food service workers from anywhere in the DMV are scheduled next, and DC isn't near completing seniors. If DC Mayor, Council and Nesbitt want "more vaccine"--then negotiate for it with MD/VA and the Feds, or call the bluff and prioritize DC residents. You have to actually try to be last. Not a case for statehood.
