Do you have FOMO for random things you naturally would not be included in anyways? I am not talking about seeing you 2 best friends on a girls weekend. For instance, pre-Covid say you see 4 girlfriends at a restaurant on social media. They are more acquaintances.. but in your circle. Do you feel FOMO? Or if you see a smaller birthday party and your kid isn't invited, do you feel bad? (even if you had a party of 10, their kid wouldn't have likely been invited either?)
Sometimes-- I think it's linked more to a brief feeling of insecurity than FOMO. It's not that I necessarily want to be out to dinner or driving my kid to every birthday party, more that I may question why we didn't get invited. Once I answer the questions..."DC doesn't know that child very well," or "those four women have been close friends since college" I move on. I think a small twinge is normal and social media doesn't help.
