Sorry, I should have said he's 9. He had HFM when he was little (he had like 3 spots but poor DH got a raging case). I don't think that's it.

HFMD is caused by different viruses, and different strains of those viruses. You can get it more than once.

It's usually caused by coxsackievirus, but can also be cause by other enteroviruses like EV-1.

Yeah fair but I think the likelihood of his exposure to HFM is even lower than the likelihood of his exposure to COVID at this point. With my comment about him being 9 I just meant he's not in pre-school all up with a bunch of kids where HFM spreads like wildfire. [/quote]
