Teachers aren't contracted for 10 months. We're contracted for a certain number of days. Usually 180 plus however many days of professional development the district offers. So, moving a day to the end of hte school year doesn't impact our pay.
Not op. Do we have to work though? I have tickets purchased to fly the day after we’re done. June 18
Surely as a teacher you knew that districts change end dates based on snow days. It's always been that way. Buying tickets the day after school gets out is a risk you chose to take. If you have leave, and your principal approves it, then you can go. Otherwise it depends on whether you want a job next year.
Not really. I’m friends with the principal so I’m not worried. I’m just not trying to use sick days unnecessarily. Thanks for trying though! Maybe next time 🥺
DP And you wouldn’t have to use sick days if you still have personal days to use. I’m saving mine for the spring in case my college aged DS’s sport allows spectators in April. If they don’t then I’ll use them elsewhere.
