I don't understand why people can't see this problem. You charge the same loan rates for all majors but the employers in our country pay more for certain skills and those job skills have a much higher chance of paying but their loans. Regardless we have SOOO many non-technical, science and math majors compared to liberal arts. The percentage of unemployment is MUCH higher in liberal arts and they can't pay back their loans. Until there is a shortage of liberal arts majors we should try to direct our children towards careers and skills that pay better or will offer steadier employment. To add to this theory if there were TOO many IT and math majors and a shortage of Liberal Arts majors, employers would start increasing salaries and recruitment of liberal arts majors.  I know a lot of liberal arts majors who are making good money but besides college professors  they got lucky and are doing things like ad sales etc... that had nothing to do with their major or they had to go in debt again to get a masters in a completely different field.
