Preventing will not be successful, if we don't prepare them for the activity. We prepare students to take a test but to properly prepare them to behave in a sport setting; is pretty much do as the Roman's do. I am firm believer that this "school pride" attitude has morphed into a danger zone. Again, the adult behaviour is fueling many of these outbursts at the games and outings. Case in point when queried about the fracas at the College Fair half the attendees did not know that something happened. Also, it is own record that the Convention Center organizers over re-acted. The underlying problem to the whole issue was that there was not enough security detail to handle such a large crowd; therefore to save money on one end it did the children such a disservice in trying to enjoy the college fair.
Good grief. We don't prepare students not to engage in public brawling? It's the fault of the college fair organizers that a bunch of kids fought because they didn't prevent it? You have lost your damn mind, lady. I've got news for you - by the time a kid is in high school, much less old enough to attend a college fair, he or she knows that assault is illegal and not permitted in society. The argument that they aren't responsible because no one prevented them from fighting is complete bullshit.
