There's no evidence that there is any significant danger to children from indoor activities whether school or physical activities and considerable evidence that there is neither significant danger to children nor much risk for them passing it on to others - especially younger children in the latter regard.

That's the actual science - the real science - rather than the relentless nonsense fear porn peddled by the press.

So I wouldn't worry at all about signing your child up for an indoor sport.  Nevertheless - if you are concerned - which is understandable given the general hysteria - it should be very easy to find an outdoor alternative as a great many outdoor options are being organized all over the place.  So while I would perfectly happily send my kids to indoor training, my DS is in fact doing everything outdoors as nothing at all is being offered indoors where we are.[/quote]

I think the danger is more for adult indoor spectators and that should be manageable like other adult indoor activities that are open.  Kids that do seem at more risk are those with underlying health conditions so for sure those kids should not do indoor sports. I also question the safety of having kids wear masks during sports when they are really running hard.  Personally I have opted for outdoor winter soccer with no masks required during practice or play.
