It is expensive. We adopted a cat from the Humane Rescue Alliance. Because of the pandemic, they were putting off spays until six months. At my kitten's vet appointment, I inquired about the cost of a private spay. It was $800! I'm guessing that dog spays are even more expensive.[/quote]I don't have a pet right now 
but WOW, the $900 for the dog and $800 for the cat is expensive. I was thinking that getting a pet spayed would cost around $100. It shows how little I know about the cost of having a pet.

I would definitely try some sort of low cost spay/neuter clinic before I paid $800-$900 for a vet.[/quote]
