I like: Thea (293) nn of Theodora or Dorothea (both out of the top 1,000). Hattie (451) nn Harriet (983) Helen (427) Gloria (556) Priscilla (575) Ellen (797) Arden (952) -- Ive seen this one used by a few preppy families I know, potential to become the next Sloane I really loved Hattie as a nn but I refuse to name a kid a nn and thought Harriet was too dowdy, even though I loved Harriet the Spy as a kid. We went with Caroline.
I love both Hattie and Harriet and really love the Harriet Tubman association. Theodora is back in the top 1000 (#859) and I keep seeing it on name lists, and it's significantly more popular in the UK (as is Thea). I think it's about to skyrocket, along with Thea, which is already marching up the charts. I knew an Arden in high school who was a wonderful, interesting girl whose mom adored Shakespeare. But she was also kind of awkward and Arden is an extremely hard name to pull off as a teenager.
