That is an absolute ridiculous thing to say.  A ten year old can learn goal keeping skills that will help in all aspects of soccer.  The right coach teaches foot skills, endurance, strength and soccer intelligence at any age.  Some kids lean towards a position early and can work on those skills and still not completely specialize until the time is right.

Hey asshat with no soccer knowledge. Why would deny your kid any opportunity to get better at anything they want to do. Think about it if you play with Gks in your game. The responsible thing to do to Is teach the position during regular team training. Those who seek out extra training shouldn't be denied it or be discouraged. [/quote]
