https://www.dcurbanmom.com/nanny-forum/forums/show/16.page If you post in the appropriate place, you’ll get more bites. Please be aware that you’re not splitting a single family rate. Shares typically run 2/3-3/4 of that rate (per family). For a nanny who can make $40k with one family, you should expect to pay $27-30k to the nanny. That does not include employer contribution to fica, unemployment or worker’s compensation insurance, adding the nanny to your insurance or paying for an increase in her insurance (consumer insurance will not cover your children in her car, if she’s working and transporting them on a regular basis), etc.
you definitely do not pay 3/4 of a regular rate. If that were the case nanny shares would be pretty rare. We were offered 13/hr to join a share, but because of pandemic decided to not do a share. paying $20/hr for 1 child. Range of pricing when we were interviewing was 16-25$ for 1 child. at 20$ and above you get a pool with many candidates, both on websites and by word of mouth.
