I think you are smart to do some research first, that way you can go in and get some samples to take home without  spending tons of time testing out scents and burning your nostrils.

You really need to wear a scent all day and night to see how it wears on you. Most stores, and def. Nordstrom's, will make samples of any perfume they have for you to take home.

Now, as for clean, crisp and fruity . . . hmm.

For mall perfumes, try Laila by Geir Ness, J Lo Glow (don't laugh til you smell it!), Calyx by Prescriptives and Donna Karan's Be Delicious.

For higher end stuff that may or may not be pricier but will be harder to find, try:Penhaligon's Ellenesia or Bluebell, or Mure et Musc by L'Artisan perfumier or Jo Malone's Nectarine Blossom and Honey. Bloomingdale's definitely carries Jo Malone.

I recommend the website Lucky Scent.

They have a whole section called "Floral Fruity" filled with more unusual and artisanal perfumes you won't find at Sephora etc. You can order samples for most of them.
