[/quote] Not OP, but I did because I have about 15lbs of apples from my CSA share so besides baking pie, apple sauce is a good way to use up a lot of apples. Anyway, OP, I just did this for my 7 mo. I peeled, cored and quartered the apples and put them in a baking dish with a tiny amount of water. I baked them covered at 350 for about 45 minutes (maybe longer, I was also baking acorn squash at the same time). Then I pureed them in the food processor - delish! They were definitely soft enough to mash with a fork but DD doesn't like lumps in her food yet :) [/quote]
