I need some ideas or advice. Not sure if I’m not being understanding enough ... Kind of gross ... heads up ... DH has horrible sinus issues. Was told by an ENT they’re among the worst impacted ones he’s seen. He doesn’t want to get surgery so just lives with it. The result is most mornings, especially as it’s getting cooler, when he wakes up and starts moving, all the crap that accumulated on his sinuses overnight starts to drip out. It is in his throat and so he needs to spit it out. So far all good. I get it, feel for him, understand. At some points this will mean he has to spit several times in a 5-10 minute period. Still all good. We recently moved to a house without a garbage disposal in the sink. DH also has a habit of peeling fruit and leaving the peel in the sink, dumping cereal, etc. so that the mesh sink filter gets clogged with food. Annoying, kinda gross, but again, I can deal. The sink closest to the main part of the house where we are for most of the morning is in the kitchen. The bathroom is about twice as far. Not miles, but also not right nearby the breakfast table. When DH has to clear his sinuses during breakfast (and sometimes at other points in the day), he spits in the kitchen sink. **Occasionally** he lifts up the mesh sink filter and spits directly down the drain. Other times he spits and washes it into the filter (be it filled with food or not) or leaves the clump of spit on the base of the sink basin (this is usually if there are some dirty dishes in there so he can’t easily wash it down). So ... I’ve asked him to please spit directly down the sink or use the bathroom, but he still doesn’t 100% of the time. Am I being unreasonable? Does anyone have any creative solutions? A spittoon? Suck it up buttercup?
