Things not to get:

[list]Bottles (each parent or baby may have a preference)[/list][list]Pacifiers (people got us the orthodontic/Nuk type, but our kids won't use them, since those don't match the nipples on their bottles)[/list][list]little baby shoes, mittens or caps (while nice ideas, some parents use these but many don't--we don't, our kids don't like them)[/list][list]Crib blankets, bumpers, pillows, etc (many parents do not use them as they are recommended against due to SIDS--let the parents buy those if they want them)[/list]
