How are other middle schoolers particularly 6th graders adjusting to dl middle school? Mine has been enthusiastic. But lately maybe because of stress, not so much for every class. She isn't feeling English in particular (does not like writing assignments). I have to be on top of her to get her to focus and complete all of her class work. Her time management is not very good either. Is this anyone else's experience?
Similar experience for my 6th grader. I realized in the spring when she just stopped doing assignments that she seems to have ADD--especially compared to her 8th grade sib who was generally staying on top of things. I'm now checking Canvas and Aspen daily to try to get her caught up on missed assignments. But 5 or 6 pm rolls around and she's still not there. So frustrating. We aren't doing much on these pretty fall weekends because both kids have homework to catch up on.
literally the same. My 7th grader was diagnosed with ADHD over the summer (this testing was not driven by school work but by other issues that indicated serious anxiety, this was just one more thing we learned), it is a significant job to keep on top of where DC is on their work but we are better at it now than at the beginning of the year. Most of DC's teachers are helpful and understanding, one is not but we are able to hyper focus on that class work to make sure we are ahead of deadlines. My high schooler is doing well. While high schooler has gotten behind on a few assignments here and there, they are on top of getting caught up. High Schooler hates distance learning but is engaged in other school activities (clubs and virtual college tours) and that seems to be helping.
