I had an interview with a recruiter over week ago (last Monday). During the interview he explained the role, asked me a few general questions and then explained the next step - an interview with the hiring manager, then a series of interviews with several other members of the team, and finally possibly an interview with the hiring manager’s boss. He even told me what questions to prepare for in the next interview and said he would send me a blog with more information on the program I’d be managing and a link to indicate my availability for the next round of interviews. I told him I would be available later that week and late this week, but that I would unavailable early this week, due to a minor medical procedure (TMI?). At that point, he said that their hiring process generally takes 4-6 weeks, that they were still early in the process (he had only spoke to 2 or so candidates) and that it wouldn’t be a problem if we can’t schedule the next interview until late this week. I followed up with a thank you note, saying that I looked forward to the next steps - but I’ve heard nothing. I am assuming that this means they are not interested- but it is a bit strange because he was very clear/specific about next steps during the initial phone call. He didn’t say - this is what will happen, [u]if you advance to the next stage. Should I follow up again and if so, what should I say? Thanks for any insight or advice!
