However, they are our very solid foothold into the Middle East. The US cannot depend on any Muslim nation to be on our side, allow us to use airstrips, fly over their country, etc. However, I think being pro-Isreal is what has put us in this position. We supported their formation out of guilt, and ignored the fact that people actually lived in the land they were taking. I am all for a Palestinian State.
