Did you all sleep train in order to get these full nights of sleep?
NP. My kids (3) all slept through by somewhere between 3-8 months and all were down to a max of one night feed by 4 months. I didn't sleep train but I also had a general rule of NEVER running in immediately. Like from the beginning I never ran over when the baby cried. If I was in the bathroom or doing something I'd finish up and go in. Always wait a minute or two. As they got older I'd draw that out. So if the 3 month old woke up we wouldn't let them cry it out, but we'd let them decide if they were really serious about it before going over. No running over at the first peep, wait until they ramp it up or until they go back to sleep. It worked but I think there is also a strong genetic component to this.
Yeah, there is. I employed the same strategy with a kid who turned into a nightmare sleeper. Genetically DH's whole family are nighmare sleepers and half of mine is, so...we were doomed from the start. To answer OP - there's nothing wrong with your kid. You'll have longer awake stretches to do things in soon enough, honestly.
