They’re really nothing near as cumbersome or hard to drive as people here, most of whom have never driven one, would have you believe. That whole thing is a myth.

Im not familiar with the next generation Suburban with independent rear suspension, but for most purposes I can’t really imagine it’s going to be all that different except for maybe feeling a little more planted when cornering aggressively. Also, it offers a diesel option, which might be worth looking at.

Mileage isn’t bad considering the size of the vehicle. By weight, it’s literally EXACTLY as efficient as a typical compact hybrid SUV. A 3500lb RAV4 hybrid gets about 40mpg hwy. A 7000lb Suburban gets about 20mpg hwy. But I can’t use a RAV4, and I need a Suburban.

If you want/need one, get it. Don’t be dissuaded by people who don’t have clue what they’re talking about.  [/quote]
