I did not have any reaction to the flu shot this year. So maybe it depends on the person and how your antibodies are fighting the shot. N I had flu like symptoms after my second shingles shot. But not my flu shot.
The flu shot shouldn’t usually cause a fever. The shingles shot will usually give you a high fever, chills, etc for a few days. If anyone is due for a shingles shot this fall/winter, you may want to get a covid test at the same time so you aren’t concerned.
I had a flu shot a few years ago where I got the shot at 4:30 feeling absolutely fine and by 6:30 I was running a 102 fever. No other symptoms, not feeling flu-ish, just fever. It lasted 36 hours, during which time I took Advil to keep it down, then vanished. I never developed any other symptoms besides just feeling too hot. It was bizarre, but yes, the flu shot can cause a fever. Ever since I get it on a day where I can make sure I don't have to do anything for awhile in case I react like that again.
