I think the ideal mayor would be a longtime Black beat cop who's been stopped and hassled police himself, who's also been affected by street crime. For extra credit: Someone with a shop that's been looted.

I want a mayor who recognizes that letting white nationalists take over the police force is unacceptable, and that letting creeps systematically smash and loot shops is unacceptable.

I also want a mayor who recognizes the need for strong social welfare programs, and also recognizes that people with money are human beings, too, and deserve to be treated with fairness and common courtesy.

If tax rates on rich people are too low and need to be increased, fine. But rich people as a whole just aren't the source of all evil. They're people who started a business and had good luck with the business, or inherited a successful business. I'm sick of people like Bernie Sanders whipping up hatred of rich people. A lot of the rich people in New York seem to be nice, responsible rich people who use their money to do good, important things, like supporting schools, hospitals and museums.

This is your guy pp. DeBlasio snubbed Ben Tucker when he appointed Dermot Shea top dog as NYPD Commissioner. Tucker is well respected and extremely accomplished. He's been overlooked twice for commissioner. Shea sends Tucker, second in command, to handle the bad cop, black issues. Fking twerp!

This sums it up for me (white moderate-dem woman)
