I used to be an insurance agent. Every single dog bite claim we got, the owner would say the same thing: "Our dog is the sweetest, most loving family pet! [the victim] just surprised her when they walked into our kitchen/ shouldn't have been jogging on the sidewalk by our house/ shouldn't have let her jump up/ should have crossed the street with their toddler when they saw us approaching!" We handled thousands of dog bite claims per year, and the story was always the same. We'd also get owners who were upset that the mailman or delivery guy maced their dog after it bit. The claims investigators had a field day whenever that happened. OP, have your dog's vaccination records and property insurance policy handy. You'll probably need both.[/quote]
