You might also consider the Museum District. Homes generally have a smaller footprint than the Fan but quiet streets and great access to amenities like grocery stores - walk or drive to Publix, Kroger, Fresh Market, restaurants and bars, and VMFA.

Richmond feels more like a cluster of small towns as opposed to a big metropolis. People are very active in their neighborhood associations such as the Fan District or Museum District, and it’s very much a stop and chat with your neighbor on their front porch type place. You will run into your friends and co workers at the grocery regularly. Same with restaurants. If you need the rush of big city life look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for some more peace and quiet, and less of the “rat race” mentality come on down.

There’s actually not much on the market right now. Lots of turnover in the multi family market but that is because it’s been a very tough year for landlords with VCU doing majority e-learning.
