So much for leaving health decisions to health officials: https://www2.montgomerycountymd.gov/mcgportalapps/Press_Detail.aspx?Item_ID=25720&Dept=1 Apparently, the bowling alley crisis is worth coming back from recess early.
The Council wants to be seen in favor of data and science. The challenge is that Dr Gayles is saying things that are very contradictory to what Dr. Faucci has said for the past few weeks and institutions like Harvard Global Institute. The statements just are not compatible. Also some of the policies, specific to Moco, are very contradictory. In their last council meeting, you could hear them discussing these Specific contradictions. And some of these contradictions, Montgomery county is one of the few counties in the country to have them. I got the sense from the council discussion there was not 100 percent trust as they could not work out the rationale. Add to that the council mistrust of Elrich, you may have them not take everything as black and white, but grey . Also the country was already having an economic restructuring occurring that was producing harm. Covid has sped up that underlying situation. They maybe balancing risks. Btw - I’m not in favor of bowling alleys personally And have always avoided them during flu season. No idea why that is a priority. Some of the other points, I do understand more
