The preschool director called today and said that DD is beyond anything that the pre-k curriculum teaches and that when they did her beginning of year assessments, she tested at around a first grade level. They thought she is would do much better in a K classroom. I however do not feel DD is advanced emotionally or socially. She can be bossy, rigid and is prone to anxiety. The director seemed to think she would do better with older kids, but I’m afraid it would just make her anxiety worse. I honestly have no idea what to do, I feel like the preschool director was not happy that I wasn’t on board with moving her ahead. Any thoughts? [/quote]
