Has anyone heard anything from AAC? THere website just says everything is postponed until further notice. Are they going to be moving ahead with practice this fall? accepting new swimmers? anyone know anything beyond 'postponed"?
Current parent of a swimmer. No information beyond what you have. Just from being involved in schools stuff, I know that the pool where they swim is closed over the summer, because there is HVAC and plumbing work being done in the school. So, they can’t hold evaluations until the pool is reopened. But when that will be is still not clear.
They swim in all 3 high school pools and only one is closed, but same about no information. Still waiting....
There was a kind of odd exchange about this at the Arlington Aquatics advisory committee meeting Tuesday. Allegedly APS greenlighted groups to swim on Tuesday 'in a limited fashion' and possibly more restricted. The aquatics people were then meeting with groups on Wed to offer them slots..... I have yet to see any of the groups that typically use APS pools- AAC, York, Swim Farm, Norman- come out with a schedule. After seeing APS interpretation of Phase 3 rules for general swim, I shudder to think what restrictions are being put on the groups, and suspect it may not be financially viable.
