You should try the MRTT group. Most of us run a lot, marathons and even ultra marathons. Lots of us did the race across Tennessee virtual challenge this summer. Almost everyone eats a ton of sweets haha! Personally, I ran my tempo run today and plan to eat a nice big bowl of ice cream after my kids go to sleep.
You have just described exercise bulimia. See also: drunkorexics.
No, you just described your own disordered thinking since apparently you only think of exercise as something to burn calories. It's so, so much more. It gives me a challenge and confidence knowing I can do something I couldn't when I was half my age. Running (and exercise in general) makes me feel strong and badass. It's also a great way to healthily work off anxiety, stress, frustration, anger, and things we all feel sometimes. It's also social! I don't like to run with others, but I do other exercise things with others - it's a great way to make friends, and even have genuine fun! And yeah it burns calories and helps keep my weight in check, but exercise is about WAY more than that. I'm so sorry you only see exercise and fitness as it pertains to weight. That's really sad.
