I've been wondering this ever since the face covering order came out. I'd be awfully surprised if anyone is enforcing it. Child Care is regulated by the state, and the state childcare rules and regulations do not require toddlers to wear face coverings. I believe that's been part of the training sessions put on by MSDE. I tried to get a clear answer from the county on their realistic expect for toddlers, but they wouldn't answer.
From what I read on the MoCo COVID site, they are requiring kids over 2 to wear masks, but if childcare centers are regulated by the state—which only requires it for kids over 5–then how can the county enforce something different?
Sure they could. The centers are operating in the county. It just seems highly unlikely that they would.
