I was a huge college sports fan for years, but am over it at this point and could care less if they got rid of all of them.  If the NFL, NBA and others want a minor league, let them do a better version and stop corrupting colleges with this nonsense.  Yes, they should be paid, and they should do whatever they want based on their view of risk, but there is no need for them to get scholarships from universities, and certainly no reason to have the bloatocracy of coaches and athletic departments at major university programs.  It's gotten out of hand.  This crisis has underscored the greed and egocentrism of everybody involved in college sports - whether the colleges, fans or athletes.[/quote]
