I think you'll find that many doctor's offices have less than stellar staff but spectacular doctors. I went to Dr McLaren while I was pregnant with twins. The staff can be a bit brusque, but if you take the time to get to know them (and chances are you'll have plenty of time to do so, since many of his patients are there once every two weeks) they're wonderful. If we boycotted every doctor's office in the area that someone here has had a problem with the staff, there wouldn't be any doctors left to go to.
Agree with the above pp. I had many, many visits with Dr. McLaren's office during my last pregnancy. They see a lot of patients because Dr. McLaren is very well respected by obstetricians. My OB does not send his patients to anyone other than Dr. McLaren. His staff has always been very nice even on the busiest days. I think most patients that complain about rude office staff are ones that usually start the issue. I also have to see my medical doctor often. I've seen patients show up late and expect to be seen right away. Then act out if they have to wait and complain in front of everyone. They have no regard for the other patients that are on time or for what it takes to run a medical office efficiently. These are the kind of patients that write things like the above and don't tell the whole truth. Although I do not condone rude staff behavior, most of the time it is the patient that is rude to begin with from what I witness. Blogs like that are not fair to all of the medical personnel who are dedicated to providing quality medical care while juggling demanding patients. I would find it hard to believe that Dr. McLaren's office staff was rude for no reason. I've just never seen it and have spent many days there during my very high-risk pregnancy.
