Another head-to-head match for you. We've narrowed our search to two cars: 2020 Mazda CX-9 and the 2020 Toyota Highlander. We are replacing an aging CX-9 that (to me) was a bit of a disappointment. Had some weird issues with the sunroof drain clogging and filling up the passenger seat leg area with water. The driver window sometimes gets off track. And it's lost its pep over the years. Despite these flaws, DH believes we just had bad luck and after test driving the new CX-9 wants to get back on that horse. He likes the acceleration and timing. I am lobbying for the Highlander Hybrid. I know I won't save the planet with it. I do like the fact it is not entirely gas-dependent and has a better MPG than most SUVs in our price range. DH thinks the gas savings won't be much to make any difference and that the HH is slower than the Mazda. He's a car guy whereas I once tried to get into someone's lexus because I thought it was our honda. He'll drive the car more during the week whereas I'll have it on the weekend. Has anyone purchased the HH or decided on it vs another SUV model? Thanks!
