Well, we were actually about to head home for them to get masks to go around the block, when the crazy lady from down the block walked by. (I don’t mean that to be derogatory. When she is lucid she can be very friendly but she is often not lucid and/or drunk and she can be angry and unpredictable.)

Anyway, she had her mask under her chin, per usual. We stepped into the grass to let her pass. She walked by, and as she passed started coughing, without covering her mouth at all. We stepped into the street and watched her cough (and spit onto the sidewalk) repeatedly as she passed our house and continued on to her house. We waited in the road with our 4 year old and her bike for a couple of minutes, then walked home in the street. We had to cross the sidewalk to get to our house, and agreed that I guess it’s masks for all 3 of us all the time now. Because who knows when the crazy lady just walked by coughing and spitting without covering her mouth.

I feel like we’ve been middle of the road about masks up to this point. We almost always have them, but only pull them up when passing someone or if we can’t step away.  But we’ll have no problem complying with this new rule now. That was just scary this morning.
