If you are in MoCo there are noise regulations for generators - day and night. Don't know about elsewhere. They Should be offering you coffee or fridge space or something to make up for the noise. I'd definitely say something at night.
I'm in Fairfax County and we offered our neighbors fridge space. We didn't have it on all night though and it is a fairly quiet one. Our power went out about 2am and it was restored by early afternoon so no reason to run it all night, but I would have if our power was still out. I don't want to lose all of the food in my fridge!
If it's "fairly quiet" then that's one thing. But are you sure it's really as quiet as you think? FYI if you ran it all day and just turned it off at night so your neighbors don't hate you (because trust me, they do, fridge space or not), you wouldn't lose the stuff in your fridge.
