If your mom visits US, will she be able to return to the country she’s living, given travel restrictions from the US in some places?
Good point. She might have to quarantine for two weeks on arrival back to where she lives now. Does she really have time for that? Is she in a country where violating quarantine is taken very seriously and she could end up fined big time if she blows off quarantining? I'd look up the rules in the country where she lives and send her that information, if she would have to quarantine. I'd also talk to her and point out that in that country she likely is not seeing any news coverage that truly lays out how awful the situation is in Florida . I'd tell her how if she gets sick there she is quite possibly going to have problems not only getting back home to her husband but getting treatment in Florida. She may need to see some of the all too true scare stories about the virus and how it has spiked so hard in Florida and other areas. Yeah, it's her choice in the end, but she may not have the same information you see daily in the (real) news here. OP, I'm also sorry your sister is a grade-A, gold-plated, head-in-the-sand fool. It's bad enough she's taking her own family to a covid hotspot that doesn't even really want them (but does long for the tourist dollars). But the fact she blithely invited your mom along is just crazy ignorant. I truly hope you live a long way from sister and family and get no pressure ever to visit them or, God forbid, "bring the kids to see their cousins" and all that nonsense. Stick to your guns, OP, and keep your own family safe.
