Frederick County Public Schools is planning for hybrid reopening, with the option to choose 100% virtual learning. They are splitting students into two cohorts A & B, which will be in school MT or ThF. Wednesday is cleaning. Virtual for hybrid cohorts will not be synchronous (100% will have different details TBD.) Possibly shortened F2F school day so that teachers can support virtual lessons on those days. Masks, SD, following guidelines, etc. Main thing not addressed is the staff issue of how to support their own children if staff is F2F. Also not addressed are staff who are in high-risk categories, some of whom could presumably support the virtual side of things. https://go.boarddocs.com/mabe/fcps/Board.nsf/files/BR5RXZ703177/$file/DRAFT%20Reopening%20Plan%20Overview.pdf
From a parent perspective, I’d love if MCPS did this —especially if my rising 9th graders could be placed in different groups so they each have quiet days at home. From a teacher perspective, I still have questions. I don’t think it is possible to teach both DL and F2F even if the DL is asynchronous. And I’d want all the F2F participants masked and tested.
