I started with Peloton about 7 weeks ago and have been riding daily. Previously, I didn’t do much exercise but totally fell in love with what riding was doing for my mental health (the weight loss was just a bonus). This past week and a half, I’ve been really struggling to stay hydrated. I know I sweat a decent amount when I ride and I’m drinking anywhere from 70-120 ounces of water a day and haven’t been able to figure out how to push any more. My diet has changed pretty significantly since staying at home more. I’m for sure eating less salt and processed foods since I’m cooking from scratch more regularly and eating at restaurants way less. My cravings have also almost completely gone away except for salt occasionally (but nothing as bad as it was in weeks 2-4 of riding). This past week, I’ve also almost completely cut out caffeinated drinks since I know they are dehydrating. I wouldn’t be concerned at all except I have been getting dizzy when I stand up too fast or shift my head quickly. I have some Liquid IV that I’ve tried but I can’t seem to drink a whole packet of it before I start to feel full. We also have some Powerade zero that I haven’t tried yet (not my favorite) but I’m considering giving it a shot today. Anyway, I’m just looking for ideas of ways to keep my body hydrated so the dizziness will stop.
