I & DH works at essential business industries, but we can telework from home. We keep our child at home even though we are eligible for free daycare. Our daycare is still open for essential workers only. My child is bored at home, and I have been wondering about if any kids at any daycare that are still opened catch anything or not. Even they check temperature at the entrance of daycare, reduce class size etc, one can have it without shown symptoms. If I know that our daycare is 100% safe, I would definitely send my child back. Unfortunately, you never know.
Well of course it’s not 100% safe. That’s an unrealistic hope.
Umm ... it wasn’t 100% safe before the pandemic. It isn’t 100% safe to drive your kid to the daycare or take public transit. Your kid could’ve caught any manner of disease at daycare before this all started and that won’t change after this is over.
PP here. As long as it is not covid 19 the my child catch, I am fine sending my kid back to daycare right away. For the past 2 years, my child have caught maybe less than 5 times of some cold & stomach virus in total. I am fine with those virus.
