I think the proposed rule will still have three moments where substitutes can enter the field, but will allow up to five subs (including half time substitutes).

Some youth leagues structure the game in such a way to minimize the disruption (limit the moments) but allow for more than three players to swap in.

I like the game played at a fast pace throughout so not totally adverse to more subs but understand the concern it will turn into a sprint fest. One proposal I heard that was interesting was to allow &gt;3 subs in matches than have more than a 3 goal lead in the second half or something like that. Would allow teams not to burn out their stars (and cause injuries) in matches that are essentially already over. Some Premier League teams have been asking for more flexibility, especially in minor competitions, to prevent injuries from overuse. [/quote]

"Moment" is the actual time when the team makes the substitution. Sub refers to the players themselves.

So you have three moments and five subs. Ex: one moment with one sub and two moments with two subs each = three moments, five subs.[/quote]
