What are the options they are referring to for the current Armour girls or for the other girls at SAC on the pre-academy teams, since there is a no longer an academy?
current armour girls teams are going into GAL many armour girls will go to pipeline for ecnl. girls from current sac pre academy teams will fill in those spots.
This is what we are hearing as well, but nothing formalized. Top Armour girls will go to Maryland United or Pipeline ECNL teams. Gaps will be filled with SAC pre-academy players and maybe some kids getting booted from Maryland United/Pipeline teams in favor of the new shiny player who is probably better. Assuming based on Santino's role in Armour girls he will be able to recruit the top talent to Pipeline. ECNL is without a doubt the best place for girls right now. I would argue that's not as clear on the boys side, but still TBD.
A friend of mine sent me this site. If you can get past all the annoying and insecure parents this is actually a pretty informative site. There is a lot of great information from parents who have been through all the BS and can provide help to newer parents trying to navigate this craziness. The annoying parents make it hard though. Is this the only site like this or are there others? We have a son at BA and currently plan to stay. We love the team, coaches and organization. I think that's important. If we had a daughter we would probably be thinking otherwise. My son knows a few of the boys on the Pipeline team (other logical place for us) that will now be ECNL and a few of the BA boys have talked about what they want to do, but most are interested in staying where they are and some are nervous. I'm 50/50 and think the MLS league could be great for the boys, but there is definitely a lack of information. You gotta love US Soccer for dropping this right in the middle of a pandemic where kids are already stressed and now telling them their teams and leagues are being upended. I feel really bad for the girls side overall.
