[/quote] This is really unusual - OP, make sure that your provider has experience inserting IUDs. I felt something similar to a mild labor contraction for a couple seconds, and then some mild menstrual-like cramps after that. I took a dose of motrin and was fine. I am on my second IUD and won't go back to any other form of birth control (until DH gets snipped...)[/quote]
