At $20/hr with 40 hours guaranteed, you'll have a great pool of nannies to select from. They maybe not have a masters in "whatever" but you'll be able to find a caring nanny that shows up on time and takes her job seriously. [/quote] We’ve only used White House nannies for backup care and they have seemed good, but it is a different beast. The issue you are ignoring is that if you pay $20 through WH nannies, only part of that is being paid to the nanny. Some goes to the agency. So the nanny is getting less than if you found and paid her directly. How much that affects quality will depend, but presumably people who are able to command more from going independent will often do so.[/quote]
