This is a very important concern for parents whose kids are frozen in time and will remain in pre-K forever. For those of you that have children who age, you'll be glad when their class size isn't increased to make room for additional PK3 and PK4 classrooms.
My kids will age, but not in DCPS. I plan to take advantage of the free PK and then switch, so I am fine with other sacrifices for improved PK options that won’t require traversing the city to find an option.
That’s fine. You’ll be in DCPS for a few years. And then you won’t take advantage of the free public school after that. It’s ok. And for every person like you there will be others who stay. You’re doing good for DCPS and for DC even if you come only for PK. Enjoy DC and your DCPS experience.
