Not OP, but I disagree with the last poster. My kid has a low NNAT and high CogAT. He will be in or not largely based on the GBRS. Appeals timeframe is very short—about a month. DH and I both have very busy schedules. If GBRS is meh, I will at the least schedule a WISC for April but if it is pretty bad I may just get it done in March when GMU has more openings. I know GMU makes every effort to get everyone in during that month but that also requires flexibility that we may or may not have. So having the GBRS ahead of time can be helpful to plan.
Have a parent teacher conference with the teacher; the conversation should give you a pretty good idea how the GBRS will turn out.
I’ve had that conversation and expect it to be good but I don’t know how good. My school permits us to request packets in March so I will. Others may not have had this conversation with the teacher and find it easier to request the packet. Of the school is willing to provide, why do you care?
I think the PP was offering a stop gap measure in case you wanted to get a feel for what the GBRSs would look like before you can ask for the packet. We had a conference as well and thought that it went very well. We will be asking for the packet as well, mainly because we are curious.
