Op those grandpas are pretty short. That might be where it’s coming from? 5’8 is petite for a man and 5’10 just average. My dad is 5’8 and I’m just 5’1 because of that. My mom is 5’6. I have girls but was told you take the height they are at 2 and double it. Is that what they say for boys too?
My dad is 5'8 (short), but both of my brothers are 6'+ (avg/tall) My husband's dad is 5'11 (average, or taller than at least on percentage chart), it is my husband's mom that is 5'10 which is tall for a woman. Yes, they say double it. I am thinking he has constitutional growth delay, which is what the pediatrician thinks may also be the issue. It would mean at peak periods of growth (toddlerhood + puberty) he trends behind his peers. In puberty, he will likely be 2-3 years behind but likely hit what would be the average of my husband and I which is about 5'11 as his adult height. Most generations are taller than the next. My brothers are 4 inches taller than my dad and my husband is 5 inches taller than his dad.
