Agreed. So glad they didn't close today - that would have been insane. Does anyone remember the days of 1-hour delays? Do they not do those anymore?
A one-hour delay this morning would have put my HS kid on the bus just when the National Weather Service issued the snow squall warning.
One-hour delays are long gone. I doubt many DCUMers even remember the one-hour delays.
I do but it’s because I attended MCPS schools 30 years ago.
Here's what I remember about 1 hour delays: The time we had one, but my parents thought it was 2 hour, so I waited for my bus alone, then went back home to an empty house and had a "me" day. Later, we had a 2 hour delay, but my parents must have just heard "delay," so I was out waiting for my bus, alone again. This time was my mom was home, so she drove me to school and I was still like half an hour early. I'm guessing we were not the only family that couldn't get it together. Besides, I don't think 1 hour is a large enough time frame for the weather and conditions to change, given that the window for bus routes from HS to MS is longer than that.
