If they're allowing kids to stay at LBSS, the official reason they check on the form is almost certainly for AP vs IB. They're "allowed" to stay, but there's no transportation. We're in the Robinson pyramid too but will opt out of AAP in middle school for that reason. We don't have the ability to pupil place to LBSS for logistics reasons for high school and don't want DD to start there in middle school and have to leave her friends all over again. Robinson needs its own AAP center, there's absolutely no excuse for not having one.
OP here - Same here. We will drop AAP for 7/8 and just opt for honors instead so that we can stay at our base secondary school. We are not at that point yet, however, and someone else asked me this question and told me that their neighbor said their kid would be allowed to stay at Lake Braddock. But I was under the impression, like others here, that was not possible. I can't really find information online about it so thought I'd ask here for experience or expertise.
